The Indigenous Relationship Advisor – Indigenous Relations (IR) will be involved primarily in supporting the operations of the Waasigan project through responsive Indigenous business and relationship engagement endeavors. The successful candidate will use a combination of strategic thinking and relationship building skills to further the success of Valard’s Indigenous engagement efforts.
Material Yard Operator• Operating Loader, Zoom Boom (telehandler), Skidsteer, and a 25T - 30T Boom Truck (for precast concrete footings)
• Loading and unloading trailers
• Other duties as required by the Material Manager and Project Leadership
• The role is seasonal and will experience gaps in work
• Selected candidates will need to sign up and maintain union membership
The Camp Manager is responsible for all camp and catering operations on site and will oversee both housekeeping and kitchen departments.
Camp Administrator - Waasigan Transmission LineReporting to the Camp Manager, the Camp Administrator acts in a managerial role providing support in the day-to-day camp operations and is responsible for the front desk services needs.
The Chef is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the kitchen in a remote camp; ordering food ingredients and planning menu, including other responsibilities such as assisting with the preparation, serving, and control of cooked and uncooked food, training of staff and ensuring that staff follows prescribed Horizon North Food Safety protocol.
1st Cook - Waasigan Transmission LineThe First Cook plays a key role in executing the daily dinner service with support from the culinary team. Working with Culinary leadership, the First Cook is responsible for preparing the feature proteins required for dinner service, ensuring that quality standards are met. As a senior member of the production team the First Cook will demonstrate effective leadership and will be responsible, along with Culinary leadership, for monitoring daily operations.
2nd Cook - Waasigan Transmission LineThe Second Cook contributes to the overall success of the Culinary team. Involved in preparing the dinner menu, the Second Cook is responsible for all starch and vegetable items required for the menu. The Second Cook will work with the First Cook to ensure that all product meets quality standards as set out by Culinary leadership.
Breakfast Cook - Waasigan Transmission LineThe Breakfast Cook contributes to the overall success of the culinary team by getting our guests started each day with a hearty breakfast. Working overnight, the Breakfast Cook is responsible for producing all required items as per contract scope daily, while maintaining a clean and enticing display of products during service. The Breakfast Cook will demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
Baker - Waasigan Transmission LineThe Baker is responsible for producing all sweet and savoury bakery products for both the bagged lunch program and daily menu service. The Baker, with support from culinary leadership, will manage production planning and quality standards to meet contract scope.
Sandwich Maker - Waasigan Transmission LineThe Sandwich Maker is an integral member of the Culinary team. Working both day and night shifts, the Sandwich Maker prepares a wide variety of sandwich and specialty items to fulfill the bagged lunch program. The Sandwich Maker will work with Culinary leads to present attractive and well-prepared products each day.
General Helper - Waasigan Transmission LineThe General Helper position is critical to the success of the culinary team. In a kitchen support role, the General Helper works a variety of shifts throughout the day and acts as the fuel that keeps the kitchen running smoothly. Kitchen support workers will complete various tasks throughout the day based on their shift schedule and time of day.
Housekeepers are a vital asset to our team and play an integral role in ensuring the cleanliness of rooms and dorms throughout the site. Housekeepers work with the Housekeeping Lead and Camp Manager to follow the company standards for quality and site cleanliness.
Janitor - Waasigan Transmission LineJanitors are a vital asset to our team and play an integral role in ensuring the cleanliness of site. Janitors work with the Lead Housekeeper, Camp Manager, and the Recruitment Coordinator to follow the company standards for quality and site cleanliness.
Driver - Waasigan Transmission LineThe Driver provides transportationfor employees to and from site. They are also involved in delivering and shuffling materials to sites.
